Raising the Environment before Raising the Chickens

Chicken farms are usually, under a general impression, occupied by the disgusting flies and bad odour of the chicken manure. Nevertheless, someone in this technological 21st century has combined the principles of biological science and adopted ‘Raising the Environment before Raising the Chickens’, a farming method using the natural organic seaweeds as core fodder to raise the chickens under an odour-free, flies-free, and bacteria-free environment, in order to have the chickens beautifully feathered and the tender meat of best quality.

In an interview, said the Managing Director of VSafe Food Products, Xu Hong Qian, the company has partnered with some of the biological science expertise in the USA, Japan, and Taiwan, to raise the chickens with a biotechnological method, without using any drugs such as antibiotics, steroids, or hormones.

Seaweed as a Core Fodder

According to Xu, the Malay-Wenchang chickens were evolved from the combination seedlings of Hainan-Wenchang chickens and the local Malays chickens. The chickens were reared free-range in an excellent natural environment, fed with seaweeds as primary fodder and the Algae nutrients as supplementary feed. The Algae nutrients used in the chicken fodder with complementary biotechnology, has successfully prevented the unpleasant odour and the disgusting flies from increasing, therefore led to a zero-pollution environment.

“A combination of traditional and scientific mode was adopted in the breeding process of the organic Malays-Wenchang chickens. The production cycle of farming took 160 to 170 days from hacking to free-range roaming.”

The Malay-Wenchang chickens are specially featured with the yellowish crispy chicken skin, extra-low-fat spongy, the tenderly smooth tasted meat and the tempted smell. The chicken bones taste good as ideal ingredient for chicken soup.

The company has been keeping the Malay-Wenchang chickens in an agricultural land near the industrial area in Gopeng. Currently they are supplying the chickens to some customers and restaurants. The eggs are available in the organic shops as well.

Xu led the press to visit the chicken farm where no bad odour, no flies and no mosquitoes found there. According to Xu, people may enjoy their meal or even camping in the farm with peace of mind, under this pollution-free environment.

Xu mentioned that the company advocates safe non-toxic eggs. The fodder for egg-laying hens without antibiotics, hormones or other chemical agents has been the core criteria in producing safe eggs. Only good-quality and healthy hens with sufficient nutrition are qualify to produce healthy eggs.

According to Xu, this method enhances the growth of egg-laying hens and increases the stability of eggs-producing rate. It also leads to a rapid growth rate of poultry and reduces the flocks fighting among poultry.

Xu revealed that, with the technology of monitoring and sterilization processing, the company has met the requirement of the European Union Egg Monitoring Regulations 2009 and successfully produced healthy and safe eggs with tempted fragrance that authenticated by the internationally recognized chemical entities.
